Three trips, three seasons
Pick the one that matches when you can get out. Or call Mike and he'll tell you what's biting this week.
King Salmon
10 to 60 lb Kings on the upper Sacramento. The trip most folks call about — late summer through early winter is prime.
Striper
Spring stripers in the Delta and lower Sac. Light tackle, hard fights, and you're usually home in time for dinner.
Bass
Largemouth, smallmouth, and spots on the Delta and the foothill reservoirs. Easiest trip on the menu — half-days work too.
Same river, every week, since 2001
Local, not a circuit guide
Mike lives in Penn Valley and fishes the same water every week. He knows where the fish hold in October and what the bite looks like in May. That's how you put people on fish.
Everything's on the boat
Rods, reels, terminal tackle, bait, ice, fish cleaning at the end of the day. You bring a current California license, layers, a hat, and food for the day.
First-timers welcome
Brought your kids? Never fished before? Good. Mike's job is to get you on fish and teach you the why if you're curious. No attitude.
